Mr. Isaac Donkor MCE for Kintampo Municipality paid Courtesy call to Chiefs in the Municipality

As part of the Kintampo Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Donkor Visit to Departments and Institutions in the Municipality to introduce himself and to have in-depth knowledge about their achievements and challenges to enable him work according to their challenges in the various sectors for the development of the municipality, chiefs and queen mothers were not left out in his visit.

Mr. Isaac Donkor paid a courtesy call to some chiefs and queen mothers in the Municipality to thank them for their prayer support and advice given to him at the time the president nominated him, according to him, at the time of his nomination, he called on them for their support and they did not let him down so for that matter his visit was to thank them and to seek their advice and direction for the development of Kintampo Municipality.

Mr. Donkor stated Kintampo, in the history of Ghana is one of the older town in the history but he has not seen Kintampo development, the Municipality is lacking in a lot of project which need awakeup call for the chiefs and people of the Municipality.

He also added that, “as a municipality what we need most for the development we are all talking about is peace, and unity among ourselves’. He said.

MCE could not conclude his address without mentioning the sale of government lands which would day be used for developmental project of the Municipality is been sold to private individual which is so much worry to him.

All chiefs visited were glad for his confirmation as the Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo “for he is their son because his mother and father both come from Kintampo Municipality”.

In their word of advice, he was informed to try working with all the chiefs for peace and unity because disunity among the chiefs will not bring the development that is needed for the municipality.

Just as the MCE spoke of his doors being open to all, chiefs visited equally said “he is welcomed anytime he need advice” some were of the view that, MCE could lead them to the president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to lay their needs before him most especially the idear of converting Kintampo Collage of Health and well-Being to a University status they added “since time memorial the people of Kintampo have never let the NDC party down with their vote” they said.

Chiefs and Queen mothers visited drew MCE attention to reckless driving of “Pragia” riders in town most especially the market days since he was the chairman of MUSEC, he was also advice not to make promises that cannot be for filled and that, stakeholder consultation should be done before working on projects because of misplace priorities.

Departmental heads part of the MCE entourage was advice to work for the development of Kintampo municipality but not to work for their own interest.

Kintampo Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Donkor Tours Department and Institutions

The Kintampo Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Isaac Donkor Started his official duties in the Municipality after he has been sworn in last week by going on an institutional and departmental tour in the Municipality.

According to him, his main aim is to have understanding of the various institutions/departments’ operations, achievements and challenges to enable him work according to their challenges in the various sectors for the development of the municipality.

In his shot address, the MCE assured all departments visited of his commitment and support in any other way for the development agenda of his government. He assured that his doors are always open to welcome anyone who come to him with good ideas for the wellbeing of the Kintampo Municipality.

Most of the institutions visited were happy with the respect and honour the MCE have given them and stated that, “no Municipal Chief
Executive has ever visited them to introduce themselves “in their tern of office.’’

Some challenges of the institutions were, logistic constraints, office accommodations, health facilities not in some communities, luck of water for their tender, fuel issue, luck of vehicles, among others.

Some institutional heads’ advice given to the MCE was to always have consultations with other stakeholders and the past MCEs of the municipality before acting or implementation of his projects or programmes in the Municipality.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive in an interview, “this familiarization tours in the Municipality will continue in all sectors to ensure that no department or community is left out in the development agenda of Ghana and Kintampo Municipality as whole. “he said.

Kintampo Municipality Confirms Mr. Isaac Donkor as MCE

The Kintampo Municipal Assembly has unanimously confirmed the President’s nominee Mr. Isaac Donkor as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). All 64 Assembly members voted yes giving him a 100% approval at the event held at the kintampo Municipal Assembly hall on Monday 7th April 2025.

Mr. Donkoe in his acceptance speech called for unity, peace, togetherness, understanding and cooperation from all the citizens of Kintampo Municipality to aid him and the Member of

Parliament (MP) Mr. Joseph Kwame Kumah to bring development to the good people of the Kintampo Municipality.

In a related development, the assembly also elected Mr. Seidu Muazu Harrison as the Presiding Member for the Assembly. He polled 49 valid votes representing 76% of the valid

votes for his confirmation.

The PM elect also commended his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work for the progress of the municipality. He also used the opportunity to plead with the government to fast track the process of getting Assembly Members their motorbikes to enable them work effectively in their various communities for development.

Prior to the confirmation, the Bono East Regional Minister Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi pleaded with all the assembly members to confirm Mr. Isaac Donkor as their MCE, stating that he is hard working, respectful and a peaceful person to aid in the development of the Municipality.

Nana Kwaku Danquah II (the Paramount Chief of the Mo traditional Council) also stated the importance of the house to collectively confirm the president nominee and peacefully elect

the Presiding Member.

He asked the opposition party Assembly Members in the house to cooperate with the NDC Assembly Members to confirm Mr. Isaac Donkor as the MCE for Kintampo Municipality to development.
