Kintampo Host 2024 Green Ghana Day

Kintampo Municipal Assembly was the host of this year’s Bono East Regional green Ghana day celebration on the 7th of June 2024 at the Kintampo Waterfalls under the theme “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow”.

The programme was organized by the Kintampo Forestry Services Division in collaboration with the Bono East Regional Forestry Division which saw a very colorful event with all the stakeholders such as the Bono East Regional Minister, Me. Kwasi Adu Gyan, Chiefs and Queen mothers from the Municipality, The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Baffoe, The member of Parliament, for Kintampo North, all the districts chiefs executives in the Region, coordinating directors, heads of departments and agencies, non- governmental organizations, religious leaders students , media and the general public graced this very important programme.

All dignities invited spoke of how the country would grow trees to make our vegetation greener as before.  Each dignities were made to plant a tree to symbolize the occasion and it would be taken care of till it grows.

Kintampo Municipal Assembly inaugurates Zonal Councils

An important component of the decentralization process is the formation of zonal councils that are relied on to manage some sections of the district in the area of communal labor to clean up the communities in which we live in, revenue mobilization to build up some projects in the communities data gathering among others

he Kintampo Municipality has four (4) Zonal Councils which consist of Babator Zonal Council, Kadelso Zonal Council, New Longoro Zonal Council and Kintampo Zonal Council.

These councils are set up to manage the affairs of the municipality. With these committees such as; Develop Service Committee and Finances and Administration committee formed to manage the activities in our communities and furnish the Municipal Assembly with their reports and achievements.

After this year’s District Assembly Elections, the Kintampo Municipal has inaugurated the four zonal councils in the municipality at a short ceremony at the various zonal Councils.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo Municipal Assembly Mr. Isaac Baffeo Ameyaw was much honored to be part of this very important inaugural ceremony and was delighted that this committees inaugurated would be working hard towards the development of the municipality, adding that “ members should not add partisan politics in the discharge of their duties.

The Municipal Chief Executive again stated that Committee members should work hard, remain united and understand each other’s views most especially with the chiefs to enable them to generate revenue from their communities.

He encouraged them to create watchdog committees, coming together to organize communal labor for cleaning or projects such as building toilets facilities, social activities including festivals and others that can generate incomes.

Chiefs invited for the inaugural ceremony were grateful for the hour given them and hoppy to be educated on some responsibilities and activities of zonal councils within their community.

They pledged to support the committees in the development of their communities and Kintampo Municipality at large.

Kintampo Marks World Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Day

Kintampo Municipal Education Department in collaboration with the Municipal Health Service has organized this year’s international world Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Day under the theme; “Imagine a period friendly Ghana, it’s time to end period poverty”.

This important programme was graced with very important stakeholders from all works of life such as chiefs and queen mother students, teachers and other people who came and donated to supporters this important programme at the Kintampo Municipal Assembly hall.

The Chairperson who was a young and influential lady who undertook all her educational ladder very successfully from the Municipality and has become a role model to most of the young girls in the municipality was the chairperson to this nationwide organized programme.

Madam Latifatu Alhassan, in her welcome address, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in creating a supportive environment for all girls and women.

She said, menstrual health is a crucial aspect of our lives as women and it is a natural and normal part of growing up, yet it often comes with challenges and misunderstandings.

Many girls face difficulties in managing their periods due to a lack of access to sanitary products, inadequate knowledge, and social taboos, and that these challenges can affect your health, education and overall well-being.

Mrs. Alhassan added that today we can build a period-friendly Ghana as the theme stated in Ghana where no girl has to miss school because of her period, where every girl feels confident and empowered to manage her menstrual health with dignity and that breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation and having open and honest conversation about menstrual health and there is no shame about it.

Kintampo Municipality Celebrate Eid-Mubarak

Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters all over the world celebrated Eid Mubarak which is an annual event celebrated after a one month proud of fasting and prayer. This year’s event ended 11th April 2024 which Kintampo Municipality was not left out.

In the Kintampo Municipality, Thursday morning all Muslims groups, different tribes together with their chiefs drumming and dancing moved to CEC School pack and Kintampo Senior High School pack with their beautiful and colorful outfit to say their prayers.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo Municipality Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw, with some party executives and the municipal information Officer, visited all the payer centers to wish them well and celebrate with them.

In a shot address presented by MCE congratulated them for their one-month prayer and fasting and wishing them well in all their endeavors. “We should all continuous to pray for unity since we are in an election year and that all should stay away from trouble and avoid being used to promote any un-lawful act in our communities for Islam is all about peace and unity” he said.

He again mentioned that, “the president of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is putting up Astro Turf football packs all over the country which Kintampo Municipality well also be benefiting from that developmental project in addition to uplifting our Collage of Health and Well-Being to a University status.” he stated.

 In conclusion Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw use the opportunity to solicit for votes for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and himself in the coming December elections as he is the NPP parliamentary candidate for Kintampo North constituency.

COMMISSIONING OF NEW LONGORO SCHOOL BLOCK

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Kintampo North Municipality Hon. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw has on this day, 26th March, 2024 commissioned a six unit classroom block at New Longoro a community under the Kintampo North Municipality.

The six unit classroom block at New Longoro is fully funded by the Getfund.

Commissioning the classroom block, Hon Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw asked Nananom and the entire community to show appreciation to the NPP government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and Dr. Alhaji Bawumia for providing them with such a befitting classroom block.

He remarked that, the NPP government will continue to prioritize education so that ones family, ethnicity or financial background does not become a barrier to education. He therefore advised parents to send their wards to school so they can have a brighter future and desist from engaging them in other activities during school hours.

He charged the community and the teachers of the school to help maintain the structure attached to the six unit classroom block was a mechanized borehole, toilet facility and a library.

Hon. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw acknowledged the role played by the Member of Parliament in bringing the Getfund project to Kintampo.

The Municipal Director of Education Mr. Sylvester Opoku speaking on behalf of the Director General and the Regional Director of GES thanked the NPP government for providing the classroom block since students used to study under a shed. He charged the school authorities and the entire community to put the building into a good use.

Hon. Charles Gyinde a representative of the Member of Parliament also spoked and thanked the contractor for expediting the work ahead of scheduled.
