Kintampo cleans its weekly market

Action Youth for Development-Ghana in collaboration with Kintampo Market Management and individual Association organized a clean-up activity at the Kintampo Municipal weekly market to reduce the sanitation situation at the market and the Municipality.

The Executive Director for Action Youth Development- Ghana and the main organizer for the event Mr. Nanga Joseph Nyindam in an interview said “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” the mean purpose is to promote human and environmental health in the Municipality.
He added “Kintampo New market always host nationals and international trades who come to transact business, the Kintampo weekly market is also one of the main sources of internal generated found for the Municipality so is very important to keep it clean and he, as a health worker, he owes it to his society in which he lives to help make it clean” he said.

Various groups in the municipality such as women groups, butchers, Zoom lion works, heads of departments etc. were all present to take part in the cleaning excites.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Kintampo Municipality Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw spoke with much happiness seeing groups of individuals and groups of people in the municipality organizing them to carry out such programmes.
Mr. Baffoe spoke against the improper way of disposing off plastic waste in the municipality and asked all to be disciplined in the way of rubbish disposal to make our environment clean.
He added that the market committee was going to relocate all the shades that are not occupied to different traders who need them.
He called on all citizens from Kintampo Home and abroad to come for the Homecoming and fund raising in support of construction of Multi-purpose community center on the 10th of April 2023 at the forecourt of the old Community Center. Kintampo Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the planning Committee, Nananom, Opinion Leaders, the Municipal Chief Executive, Distinguished Sons and Daughters of Kintampo invites you all “Kintampo Homecoming; Efie ne Fie” he said.
