The Kintampo Municipal Assembly has inaugurated its Municipal Sanitation Planning Committee to deal with the poor environmental sanitation which has been a major challenge in all communities in the municipality.
In all the MMDCEs, in the Country and Kintampo Municipal Assembly as one of the Municipalizes in the country, environmental sanitation management is a huge responsibility. It is for this reason the Government of Ghana is re-introducing the National Sanitation Day Programme (NSDP)to improve waste management and enhance environmental cleanliness across the country.

As the Kintampo Municipal has an on-going solid waste collection contract with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, however, it is limited in scope and largely concentrated in some parts of the Kintampo Township. It is obvious that vast public and private spaces would not be cleaned so this (NSDP) would ensure citizens to assist the Assemblies cleaning those spaces.
In a short inaugural prgramme organized by the Kintampo Municipal Assembly saw some heads of department and stakeholder who came together to constitute the Committee.
In a speech by the Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Donkor stated clear duties of the committee and that, the inauguration of the Kintampo Municipal Sanitation Planning Committee is to position our municipality for action in this well-intentioned endeavor.
